Modern Dance Fundamentals II
Age 10-14
Class Description
Modern Dance Fundamentals II builds on the foundation established in MDF I, expanding students' understanding of traditional modern dance techniques while introducing basic principles from Limón and Cunningham techniques. In addition to deepening their technical skills, students explore experiential anatomy and applied dance theory, gaining insight into how the body functions and moves in space. Emphasis is placed on the dynamics and qualities of energy that underpin all movement, helping dancers develop a greater awareness of the energy flow that supports their actions. MDF II is open to dancers ages 11-13 who have taken MDF I for at least two years or by instructor invitation. MDF II is a non- performing class. (No charge for students enrolled in Junior Company)
